Natural and Easy Ways to Get Rid of Lice

0

Lice infestation is such an embarrassing and frustrating condition which can leave you quite irritated and sulky for most times. These nasty little creepies constantly crawl over the scalp making you itch all the time. The worst thing about this problem is that even if you manage to get rid of lice completely, it always comes back if you have not done it properly. Re-infestation is a fairly common problem as lice and its nits can be found not just on your hair but your clothes, bed linen and furniture too from where it spreads to others.

There are many homemade remedies that you can put to use to get rid of lice effectively. One of them is castor oil; apply it evenly over your scalp and hair and cover it using a shower cap. Leave this overnight and wash the next morning with a mild shampoo. You may have to wash twice to remove all the oil and lice, but believe me it is worth the effort. Castor oil is not only useful to b but also to make it conditioned and soft.

The other natural way to get rid of lice is to comb out your hair everyday using a good quality nit comb. There are both plastic and metal combs available but I would personally recommend the metal ones as your can easily disinfect them in boiling water. Remember never to comb harshly or you will end up pulling out all your hair. Some people find it easier to oil their hair and then comb out to get rid of lice.

A very important thing that needs to be done to prevent re-infestation and to b permanently is to remove it not just from your hair but also from your clothes, bed linen, pillow cases and furniture. Change and wash clothes, bed linen and pillow cases daily till the infestation resolves. As for furniture, you can use a solution like Licenex which can be diluted in water and used to clean the surfaces of all the washable furniture.

Whatever method you choose, stick to it for a long time as lice are stubborn and it requires a while to completely get rid of it.
