Get a Picture of Head Lice – Identify Your Enemy

0

Does seeing a picture of head lice disgust you? Getting lice is an unavoidable aspect of your child’s school years and you have to learn to deal with it.

Children tend to share a lot of things with their friends, and head lice can move with ease from one head to another one by shared caps, hooded jackets, helmets and other head gear. If one child at a sleepover or in the class has it, it can spread very easily. You have to take some measures to keep your child’s head free from lice so that the problem doesn’t spread to other members of the family.

Doctors recommend that you get a picture of head lice so that you can identify one easily when you encounter it. Many times lice infestations are misdiagnosed by the parent because of sheer lack of knowledge. This gives the lice plenty of time to breed and can lead to serious problems.

A bad lice infestation can of course lead to social ostracism. No parent wants this for their child, but if your child is known to have lice, he or she may not get many invitations for social activities. Head lice can also spread diseases, typhus being one of them.

In addition to a picture of head lice, you also need to know what its eggs, or nits, look like. If you only get rid of the lice but leave the nits in, your child will get another infestation when they hatch. You need to remove the nits as well as the lice with a fine tooth comb so as to make sure your child’s head is lice free.

Of course, this does not mean that the problem will not reoccur, because of the ease of infestation from other children, but you at least have identified your enemy if you have a picture of head lice and nits.
